How It Was Formed
Maverick Training Center FKA FTW Wrestling was formed in the fall of 2022 by former teammates and good friends Seth Gross and Maolu Woiwor. Founded in Milton, WI the club began with a small group of 6-8 wrestlers and grew to 40+ wrestlers by the fall of 2023. Emphasizing the balance of fearlessness and discipline on the mat, the club created an open and collaborative learning environment for kids to develop their own style of wrestling through Seth and Maolu’s scaffolding system. As of Fall 2024 Coach Gross has accepted a job in Bismarck, ND while Coach Woiwor has taken on full responsibility of the club alongside his assistants 4x State Champion and UW Badger wrestler Nicolar Rivera and Milton Varsity Alumni Justin Sanchez.
How It Is Run
Classes are fundamentally run with the purpose of developing a long lasting passion for the sport of wrestling in all our wrestlers. Practicing with a purpose and teaching with intention is a mutual agreement between our wrestlers and our coaching staff. Creating an environment where athletes feel comfortable asking questions and have the freedom to become their own wrestler under guidance from coaches who have competed with and against the highest level of wrestling in the world.

Our mission is to drive fearless innovation by equipping wrestlers with the skills and mindset needed to challenge a one-dimensional style approach to wrestling. Through diverse training methods and a supportive learning environment, we empower our athletes to lead with courage, embrace change, and pioneer unique styles that optimize their given abilities.
